Jam of the Day | Dark Dark Dark – Celebrate

Dark Dark Dark is one of many bands out there right now parlaying orchestral instruments – somehow, someway – into a contemporary sound. When I try to wrap my head around how exactly this is possible, I come up empty. With a “psychedelic” mix of influences (yes, classical but also Middle Eastern music, old soul, and Top 40), the Minneapolis outfit manages to beautifully the proverbial old world with the new. And, it’s just kind of brilliant.

Take a listen to “Celebrate,” our Jam of the Day. And be sure to watch the video below.

Dark Dark Dark – Celebrate

Best of all, Dark Dark Dark plays Off Broadway on September 18th with A Hawk and a Hacksaw and Pillars and Tongues. Get your tickets here! The album, Wild Go, is out now. Pick it up here.

Watch Dark, Dark, Dark perform “Celebrate” with The Modern Times Spychestra for North Shore Sessions. I love the groovy handclap rhythm.
