For everyone who has seen Purple Rain, there is a scene where Prince walks into First Avenue, sees Morris Day & The Time on stage and is blown away by what’s going down. It’s one of those iconic movie moments that perfectly encapsulates the feeling of a musical movement in its infancy. I literally lived that scene Friday night when I walked into the Lincoln Theatre to find Twin Shadow onstage, looking a little like Morris Day actually, tearing it UP on the stage below. Since then, I have been obsessed.
Well, Twin Shadow just released a new single this week to feed my new need for his music. It’s called “Changes” and is a new version of an ’80s song named “Circus Is Gone” by Bagarre. Listen to it below!
