Jam of the Day | Escondido - Black Roses

It's pouring in Nashville. Weather for reflection. As I approach my one year anniversary in this town, I'm reminded of all the changes that have occurred. Memories of time spent out West fill my brain, while an appreciation of Southern comfort settles deep in my belly. If my life is a movie, the band scoring the soundtrack to this particular scene is Escondido. When I listen to their self-titled debut EP (available at Noisetrade), I hear a sultry combination of California and Tennessee that sticks to my ribs; the dusty vocals of Jessica Maros delicately kissing the strings plucked by Tyler James.

"Black Roses" is a fine floral wine with notes of sun, sadness, sand and straw. A perfect bouquet for a rainy, reflective day.
