Jam of the Day | Summer Heart - I Wanted You To Stay

As you may have already gathered, I am incredibly excited for it to be summer here in North Carolina. Yeah, the humidity feels like being wrapped in wet comforter, the bugs come in swarms, and we have a fresh crop of 17 year cicadas on the way, but I don't care.

I love summer.

It's the carefree time of year, when everyone is home from school and ready to have fun with old friends. The time to come together to celebrate our relationships and the beautiful world around us. The time to live with no regrets and just enjoy existence.

This track by Summer Heart (aka Swedish producer David Alexander) is the perfect distillation of the summer vibe; a lilting dream pop fantasy that's propelled forward by a relaxed beat, which keeps things moving, but doesn't feel forced. It reminds you that there a lot of spectacular things happening around you, but doesn't push your face into them, letting you enjoy life at your own pace.

Go sit on the beach and stare into the waves while listening to this song on repeat. I promise you won't regret it.
