This gorgeous track from Winston-Salem's The Genuine starts with an a cappella male-female harmony; it slides seamlessly into an indie rock piano ballad that sounds like nothing else I've ever heard. Matthew Allivato and Katelyn Brouwer take turns with whose voice soars out the melody, and the band as a whole puts together a subtle, complex backing track to their harmonies that just blows me away.
The Genuine's debut album, Blooms, just came out this week, and it's definitely worth picking up. You can stream the whole thing on Soundcloud.
