I got distracted on Friday by the fact that we're having October in August here in North Carolina this weekend, which delayed me bringing you this excellent song from Florida's Have Gun, Will Travel. It's appropriate, though, because 'Standing At The End Of The World' is a foot-stomping, hand-clapping, autumn-feeling sort of roots song. It's a cheerful little song about peering over the edge of the abyss, the perfect song to soundtrack a fall road trip to nowhere in particular. With a chorus you can shout along to and a harmonica line that sounds like a train whistle blowing in the distance, you can't do better than this song and Have Gun, Will Travel's upcoming Fiction, Fact, or Folktale? for any driving you plan to do in that beautiful cool fall weather.
Fiction, Fact, or Folktale? will be out September 10 on This Is American Music, both digitally and on CD, and Have Gun, Will Travel will be on the road themselves to support it.
