It’s too late in the day
Too late in the day to
Take you on all the rides

On late Monday, Rolling Stone published Emily Haines’ written tribute to Lou Reed, who passed away on Sunday. Haines, of course, is the voice of Metric, and Reed contributed vocals to a song, “The Wanderlust,” on Metric’s last album, Synthetica, which also happened to be one of our favorite albums of 2012. Her words about Reed are touching and human, and are greatly worth ten or so minutes of your time.

Tonight, Metric plays the Fox Theatre in St. Louis, joining a bill that includes Hellogoodbye and Paramore. The last time they were in town, they flat out rocked The Pageant, a show that I still refer to as one of my favorites at that venue. And I have seen many shows at The Pageant.

To get ready for tonight’s show, I’ve selected what are in my opinion the “15 Best Metric Songs.” Enjoy!
