The Strange Boys Do Rock ‘N’ Roll Right

Yesterday, we posted that Spoon had announced a string of North American tour dates. All around the Interwebs, fans buzzed about the more-bang-for-your-buck addition of Deerhunter to the lineup. Well, get ready for an even better bargain: the Austin six-piece, The Strange Boys, will start the show off real nice like with their signature “timeless and refreshingly avant garde” rock ‘n’ roll.

If you’re jonesin’ for a new take on ’60s era, bluesy garage rock, you’ve come to the right place. According to the press release, “The Strange Boys have provoked excitement and reaction in the Rough Trade offices the like of which has been unseen since the signing of The Strokes.” Yeehaw!

Head on over to the band’s MySpace page to sample the title track of their forthcoming second effort, Be Brave. There is no official date yet, but the label’s website promises a February release.
