Jam of the Day | Harlem – Gay Human Bones

It’s surprisingly hard to figure out which part of the musical spectrum Harlem best fits, which for me is part of what makes them so likable. While there’s plenty of punk/rock ‘n’ roll spirit on the album, Harlem has proven that they’re more than capable of writing poppy hooks on tunes like today’s Jam of the Day, “Gay Human Bones.”

The track is from their recently released Matador debut, Hippies, which is saturated with exactly what you’d expect from a garage rock duo from the musically fertile Austin, TX. It’s chock full of tunes that are catchy as hell without trying too hard: raw, fun and performed with a plethora of attitude.

And like a few other current buzz bands, they rely heavily on sounds of the ’50s and ’60s, which makes it the perfect music for a Monday morning jolt. Check it out below.
