Pajammy Jam of the Day | Glen Hansard – Bird of Sorrow

Come on, we gotta get out, get out of this mess we made
And still for all our talk, we’re both so afraid
Will we leave this up to chance, like we do everything?
Love is gonna find us again

There is a saying that goes something like this: Force is most always met with resistance.

And with that, here’s what I know about love.

Love doesn’t hide. It waits to be found.
Love is a broken window that still offers a view.
Love is an impossibly beautiful bluebird. It flies away.
Love is a tree in winter. Still alive, offering hope for something new.
Love is a cash machine. It’s blue and green.
Love is a rose. You better not pick it.
Love is not calculated. But you’ll figure it out.
Love is worth keeping.

So, when Glen Hansard sings “love is gonna find you, you better be ready then” at the end of “Bird of Sorrow,” I feel a little more alive, ready to live a new life with few expectations, but also with an open heart. And for that, I am grateful.

Hansard will be performing at The Pageant in Saint Louis on September 25th.
