I’ve alluded before to the fact that I’m having a comically bad year in 2014, which culminated with losing an entire interview with Mitchy Collins and Danielle Bouchard of Oh Honey this week, backup transcriptions and audio file and everything. Which is why I’m so happy to share “Be Okay” today, because despite everything that’s happened this year, this week I’m pretty much feeling like I’m going to be okay. It’s a feeling that’s not unlike cool weather after a thunderstorm, and it’s absolutely refreshing.
So is the catchy pop of “Be Okay” and its hooky chorus, and the harmonies of Collins and Bouchard, and the video of the band in New York City, walking the streets and riding trains and watching the city go by. If you don’t groove a little bit to these drums and guitar lines, you might want to check your pulse.
Because we’ll be okay.
