Springtime in the blogosphere can be quite busy. There are those Vampire Weekend records to dust off and Ray-Bans to shine. Hipsters everywhere must flock to H&M to get their rolled-up shorts in all shades and colors. So don’t judge us for just now finding the room to give Battles new track, “Ice Cream,” its official Jam of the Day slot.
This super-funky jam was well worth the wait, as Battles expands its sound behind John Stanier’s kick ass drumming and the normal exploratory electronic elements of goodness. It’s an awesome introduction to their new album, Gloss Drop, which came out this week on Warp Records, and is sure to become a summer favorite for cool people around the world.
