I have a pair of Bose 500 Series IV speakers. When I acquired them, one woofer was blown (bad foam surround) and the woofer was missing in the other cabinet. After a great deal of research, I settled on these Eminence Alpha-10 speakers as replacements for the Bose woofers. They fit perfectly in the Bose cabinets with no modifications. This is my first ever purchase of Eminence speakers and, having experienced these firsthand (finally), I now know why they have such a good reputation for quality. These Alpha-10s are simply amazing. I cannot say enough good things about these speakers. They may only be rated down to 57 Hz but believe me, for average listening they are just fine.. And they are made in the USA which makes them an even better buy! Parts Express shipped these quickly, as always, and I have no complaints whatsoever.Ron

I purchased these woofers to better balance the output with the midrange & tweeter in my loudspeaker system. I built 1.5 cu ft vented enclosures tuned to 50Hz with a 4" diameter port. The bass output is appropriate and matches well – as I hoped – and the system has a nice punch to the bass. The bass response is extended through the use of a 12" powered subwoofer that works from about 50 Hz down.KEITH
This is a great value woofer. Crossed over low enough to reduce the impact of the peak in the frequency response at ~3200 Hz is the key to excellent performance. I'm using it in a 2nd order crossover with an L=0.9 mH and C=12uF. It mates really well with higher sensitivity tweeters that can be crossed low including the Dayton Audio RST28F-4 or RST28A-4 (the one I'm using with C=20uF and L=0.3mH).Edward

I originally purchased a pair for my empty Epifani UL210 bass cab project. Was able to reach 400w at 8ohms (this speaker is 16ohm version). It has plenty of power to be heard at any small to medium venues. Like every Neo speaker, it has some degree of over excursion but never had issues with the sound breaking up or distorted from higher volumes. Worth mentioning that I've had several compliments on how my rig was cutting thru the mix on my recent gigs. The sound character is the midrange is more accentuated than the lows and highs. Guitar players looking for that mid boost in their tone will love this speaker. What I like the most is the weight. The product specs says 4.4 lbs but the ones I have are 3.2lbs on my mailing scale (yes, my scale is calibrated, my 10lbs dumbbell reads exactly at 10lbs on it) So,If you are looking for a very warm sounding speaker this is it. If you are looking for a speaker with a flatter response or perhaps a speaker to provide a more deep bass response you may wanna consider something else. I'm a happy with it.Guil
