Jam of the Day | Jesse Woods – Danger In The Dancehall

“I started writing music late, probably early 20’s. I just didn’t want to do anything else, it’s relatively simple”

We are so glad you did, Jesse.

This Austin based, self-produced folk artist is cleverly captivating and irresistible. Jesse Woods music certainly has much more creativity than the normal acoustic folk sound. Winning over the support from Beach Fossils, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, and Tori Amos (just to name a few), his music leaves a unique impression on you. His voice has a smokey resonance to it that makes you wish you were sipping on a glass of whiskey in the southwest summer heat.

Unexpectedly, his album, Get Your Burdens Lifted, released in 2013, has been my go to jam while I study, snowboard, run, or just hang out. For a music connoisseur like me, that is impressive. The first word that comes to my mind with Jesse Woods? Dreamy. With his desire to always work on something new, I know there will be more great music to come.

While of songs his are fantastic, I couldn’t resist posting “Danger In The Dancehall”.
Check out his music below. You’ll soon have his songs on repeat.
